Project Brief
Jay contacted Digidol wanting help to create a website to properly promote his new business, Bikes With Jay. Although Bikes With Jay was a new standalone brand, Jay already had a huge amount of experience behind him, with over 15 years of hands-on bike experience, from fixing and repainting bikes in his grandad’s shed, through to working in local bike shops, the British Cycling Federation Team, and now as a mechanic for the Cube Factory Racing Downhill Team.
One of the main goals of the website was to communicate Jay’s experience clearly, without making the business feel overly technical or intimidating for everyday riders. The website needed to appeal to a wide range of cyclists across Mid Wales and Shropshire, from people needing a quick repair or safety check to more experienced riders looking for higher-level servicing and specialist maintenance.
A key part of the brief was that many of his regular clients are parents of riders, so the website needed to be simple and easy to understand. This matches Jay’s straightforward approach of: clear pricing, no surprise repairs, proper communication and genuine care for every bike project, no matter how big or small. The website needed to reflect this from the very first visit.
Project Overview
At the start of the project, we focused on positioning Bikes With Jay as both professional and approachable. Jay’s World Cup-level experience is a major strength of the business, but we also wanted the website to feel accessible for local riders who may simply need a repair, adjustment or general service.
To support this, we created a clear website structure around the main services customers are likely to search for. This included dedicated pages for bike servicing and tune-ups, repairs and maintenance, availability and pricing, and contact information.
One of the most important features was the availability page. Jay regularly works away with the Cube Factory Racing Downhill Team, so the website needed a simple way to show when he is available locally and when he is away at races or training events. This helps manage customer expectations while also reinforcing the specialist experience behind the business.
We also worked carefully on the pricing information. Labour is charged based on time, parts are quoted separately, and if additional work is required, Jay confirms this with the customer before carrying it out. Making this process clear on the website helps build trust and reduces unnecessary back-and-forth before booking.
To make the enquiry process even easier, we also added WhatsApp calls to action with preloaded messages, helping customers include the right details from first contact while reducing back and forth and making it easier for Jay to manage enquiries and book bikes into the workshop.
Website Build & Design
The website was designed to be simple, bold and easy to navigate, using the Bikes With Jay brand colours and a clean structure that reflects the cycling industry without overcomplicating the user journey.
Each service page was created to give users the right level of information without overwhelming them. Rather than relying on long technical explanations, the content focuses on what Jay does, how the process works and what customers can expect when they book their bike in.
Clear calls to action are used throughout the site, guiding users to check availability, view pricing or get in touch. The goal was to make the next step obvious, whether someone needs a quick repair, a professional service or advice on a more specialist issue.
Alongside the website, we also supported the setup and optimisation of the Bikes With Jay Google Business Profile, helping to improve visibility for local searches across Welshpool, Mid Wales and Shropshire.

It also helps position the business clearly for local riders across Mid Wales and Shropshire, while highlighting the high-level experience that makes Jay’s background so unique.
Looking ahead, the next step is to continue building the online presence of Bikes With Jay through local SEO, Google Business Profile optimisation and regular content that supports visibility across relevant bike servicing and repair searches.
