Project Brief

Glan-Life Children’s Services first contacted Digidol after being recommended by other providers in their industry. As a new residential childcare provider, they needed a professional digital presence that could support the early stages of the business and provide a clear point of contact for local authorities, commissioners and other professionals involved in residential placements.

The initial website was created as a simple but professional starting point, with enquiry forms and clear introductory information. As the business developed, the website was then expanded in 2026 to better reflect Glan-Life’s current capabilities, homes, values and approach to care.

The aim of the expanded website was to create a more complete and informative online presence. It needed to feel professional and trustworthy for local authorities and commissioners, while still being warm, human and centred around the children and young people Glan-Life supports.

Project Overview

The 2026 website expansion focused on developing the website into a fuller platform that could properly showcase Glan-Life Children’s Services and the support they provide.

Glan-Life provides planned residential placements for children and young people aged 5–17 with emotional and behavioural needs. Many of the young people they support have experienced trauma, instability, disrupted care or previous placement breakdowns, so it was important that the website clearly communicated the organisation’s trauma-informed, relationship-based and child-centred approach.

A key part of the project was making the website useful for several different audiences. Local authorities, commissioners, professionals and families all need to understand who Glan-Life supports, how placements are considered, what the homes offer and how the referral process works.

The website also needed to explain Glan-Life’s wider values. Rather than simply listing services, the content was shaped around safety, stability, trust, belonging, positive relationships and helping young people build confidence for the future.

Website Build & Design

The expanded website was designed to be clear, calm and easy to navigate.

The structure was developed to guide users towards the right information quickly, including details about Glan-Life, its approach, its homes, referral information and contact options.

This helped move the website beyond a basic online presence and into a more complete resource for professionals considering suitable residential placements.

The design approach avoided unnecessary complexity. In a sensitive sector such as residential childcare, the website needed to feel professional without becoming cold or corporate. The aim was to create a site that felt credible and reassuring, while still reflecting the warmth and care behind Glan-Life’s homes.

The website was also designed to support future growth. As Glan-Life opens new homes, updates services or develops its care provision, the site now has a stronger structure that can continue to evolve with the organisation.

Website Content & Messaging

A major part of the project was developing website content that accurately reflected Glan-Life’s current work and values.

The content explains that Glan-Life provides safe, stable and nurturing residential homes for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. It also highlights the importance of trauma-informed care, trusted relationships, consistent routines and personalised support.

The website outlines the types of placements available, including solo and shared placements, medium to long-term care, step-down placements, planned transitions, stability-focused placements and enhanced staffing support where appropriate.

Careful matching was another important message. Glan-Life takes time to consider whether each placement is right for the young person, the home and the other young people already living there. Including this within the website helps show the thoughtful and responsible approach behind each placement decision.

The content also introduces Glan-Life’s homes, including Merino Meadows, Herdwick House and Romney Rise, giving professionals a clearer understanding of the character, purpose and status of each setting.

Content & SEO

Search engine optimisation was included as part of the project, but the tone and approach had to be appropriate for the sector.

Rather than making the website feel overly commercial, the focus was on creating clear, useful and trustworthy content that could support relevant visibility while maintaining the right level of sensitivity.

The expanded website now has stronger content around residential childcare, children’s homes, EBD placements, trauma-informed care and specialist residential support. This gives the site a better foundation for organic visibility, while also helping local authorities, commissioners and professionals understand Glan-Life’s services more clearly.

The SEO work also supports credibility. In sectors such as residential childcare, a website must do more than rank; it must build trust, explain standards clearly and reassure visitors that the organisation is professional, responsible and focused on positive outcomes for young people.

Project Review

Glan-Life Children’s Services has been a meaningful project for Digidol to support because the website plays an important role in helping the organisation communicate its purpose clearly and professionally.

The expanded website gives Glan-Life a stronger platform to showcase its homes, explain its care approach and support appropriate placement enquiries. It provides clearer information for local authorities, commissioners, families and professionals, while still presenting the organisation in a warm and human way.

For Digidol, the project required a careful balance between professional credibility, sensitive messaging and clear website structure. The result is a website that better reflects Glan-Life’s current capabilities and gives the organisation a flexible platform to keep developing as its services grow.

Looking ahead, the focus is to continue supporting Glan-Life Children’s Services through managed hosting, website updates and ongoing improvements, ensuring the site remains accurate, professional and aligned with the important work they do.
