The LHG logo already stands out with 3 strong colours, this made the colour scheme of the website fairly easy to construct. The effective contrast between the white, dark blue and orange provided plenty of oppurtunity to make sections to stand out and for all text to be clearly visible to readers. The three-tone colour scheme also allowed for a change of the accent colour throughout the site which makes this site extra unique.
I also looked to create clear service pages that struck the perfect balance between being informative to the user, easy navigation and creating a high conversion. To do this, I used a sidebar with simple navigation buttons to click through the different services on offer. I also broke up the text with bullet points to highlight key information and make it stand out to readers, even if they are just skimming the site.
Finally, each service page sidebar includes a small ‘request a call back’ contact form that encourages the user to enquire whilst they learn about LHG’s services. Each page, along with the contact form on the Contact Us page has a unique tracking code so that we can monitor the conversion rate of each page in relation to traffic and look to make improvements.
The portfolio section also gave the chance for Luke to showcase all of the incredible work he had previously completed to demonstrate the professionality of his services. Each project includes a description of the project, what LHG did and how they did it, along with a gallery and a review section. This helps build LHG Plumbing and Heatings credibility with both potential clients who have already heard of the business, in addition to users coming into contact with his business for the first time.
The portfolio section has extra benefits for LHG including providing the opportunity to cross-post to social media and vice versa to get the most out of all the content produces; and an easy way to regularly add new content to the website for Google to crawl and index.
