Project Brief
Sioned and her family contacted Digidol wanting help to modernise the Tŷ Mawr Caravan Park website and create a stronger online presence for the business.
The park had previously been part of Towyn Development Co, a wider group, before being split off and run independently by Sioned and her family. With this new chapter for the business, they wanted a website that better reflected Tŷ Mawr Caravan Park, the experience of staying in Borth, and the direction they wanted to take the park moving forward.
The previous website was a template site built in the same style as the other caravan sites within Towyn Development Co. Although it still worked as a basic information site, it felt dated and did not properly sell the location, facilities or experience of staying at Tŷ Mawr Caravan Park. There was also a clear SEO opportunity. The domain had good history and some existing value, but the website lacked the keyword-targeted content needed to compete properly for searches around caravan parks, campsites and holidays in Borth.
The goal was to create a modern, easy-to-use website with clear information about the caravan park, campsite, local area and caravans for sale. Since launch, the project has developed further with the addition of an integrated booking system for the campsite’s 20 pitches.
Project Overview
At the start of the project, the focus was on creating a website that felt more modern, more immersive and much easier for users to navigate. Tŷ Mawr Caravan Park already had a long-standing reputation, but the website needed to do a better job of showing why people should choose it for their next stay in Borth.
A key part of the strategy was improving the structure of the website. Rather than keeping everything as basic information pages, we created a clearer layout covering the caravan park, campsite, caravans for sale, local attractions, things to do in Borth, local food and drink, and contact information.
This gave the website more depth for users and more opportunities to target relevant search terms. Pages around Borth, local attractions and things to do were particularly important, helping the website appeal not only to people already searching for Tŷ Mawr Caravan Park but also to those looking more generally for places to stay and things to do on the Ceredigion coast.
The project also focused on showcasing the new static caravans for sale. By improving how these are presented on the website, Tŷ Mawr can provide potential buyers with clearer information before they enquire, helping to improve the quality of enquiries and make arranging viewings easier.
Website Build & Design
The new website was built with a cleaner, more modern design to move away from the older boxed layout of the previous site. The goal was to create a more open and welcoming feel that better reflected the coastal setting and family-run nature of the park.
The website structure was kept simple and practical, with clear navigation for holidaymakers, touring guests, campsite visitors and people interested in caravans for sale. This makes it easier for users to find the right information quickly, whether they are looking to book a camping stay, explore the facilities, browse local attractions or enquire about owning a static caravan in Borth.
From an SEO perspective, the website was built with keyword-targeted content across the main pages. This included strengthening relevance around terms connected to Borth caravan parks, campsites in Borth, local attractions, dog-friendly holidays and things to do in Borth.
Alongside the main website build, Digidol also provides managed hosting, giving the site a reliable foundation with ongoing support when updates or technical changes are needed.
Booking System Integration
After the initial website build, we added a booking system for Tŷ Mawr’s 20 campsite pitches. This includes grass tent pitches, electric caravan pitches and non-electric caravan pitches.
The booking system integrates with PitchUp, helping to keep availability synchronised and making it much easier for the team to manage bookings without the risk of overbooking. It also gives Tŷ Mawr the ability to take more direct bookings through their own website, reducing the amount paid in commission on incoming bookings.
For Sioned and the team, this has made the booking process more efficient. Customers can check availability and book more easily, while the park receives fewer basic enquiries and can spend more time focusing on guests, site management and higher-quality enquiries.
Project Review
Tŷ Mawr Caravan Park has been a great project to work on because it combines several important parts of a strong digital presence: a modern website, better SEO structure, clearer content, improved caravan sales information and a direct booking system.
The new website gives Sioned and her family a much stronger platform for promoting the park independently, while still building on the history and value of the existing Tŷ Mawr domain. It now better reflects the experience of staying in Borth, provides clearer information for guests, and gives the business more control over bookings and enquiries.
As another Welsh-speaking client, this was also a project that aligned closely with Digidol’s own values. Being able to work largely through the medium of Welsh while helping promote the beauty of the Welsh coast and the wider experience of holidaying in Cymru made the project especially rewarding.
Sioned was a pleasure to work with, and the booking system has made managing campsite pitches much easier. Looking ahead, the focus is to continue improving the website, building visibility for Borth-related search terms, supporting caravan sales enquiries and helping Tŷ Mawr Caravan Park strengthen its online presence further.
